Family Bible Verse Challenge

Presented jointly by Education and Marriage Ministries: Avenue F ACTIVATE!! Bring the Bible to life with your family and friends in a fun, faith-filled competition! During the month of July, we invite groups of 4 or more to choose from the following two verses:  Lamentations 3:22-23 Matthew 5:14-16 Act it out in a short skit and post your entries to our Avenue F Facebook page by the deadline: July 31st. It's fun, meaningful and a great way to learn God's word together. Costumes and props encouraged. Entries will be evaluated for creativity, teamwork and most impactful message! Faith-Based DBT Skills Group

Following the success of the ACEs Challenge and our recent follow-up discussion, we are proposing the launch of a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills Group at Ave F Church of Christ. This group is intended to provide faith-based, trauma-informed mental health support to those seeking healthier coping strategies. Purpose: This group will serve as Phase 3 of our mental health initiative, focused on healing through action. Our goal is to equip individuals with tools for emotional regulation, spiritual growth, and relational healing, all grounded in Biblical truth and clinical best practices. Structure: Location: Ave F Church of Christ Dates: 2nd & 4th Mondays of each month Time: 6:30pm to 7:30pm Group Size: Limited to 12 participants (first-come, first-served basis Facilitator: Andrea Carter, PMHNP, and other licensed/qualified professionals Duration: Ongoing; participants will be enrolled in cycles of 8–12 weeks, depending on interest and need Core Focus Areas: The DBT skills taught will include (but are not limited to): Mindfulness: Becoming aware of thoughts, feelings, and triggers while staying anchored in Christ Emotional Regulation: Learning how to manage intense emotions with wisdom in healthy, faith-centered ways Distress Tolerance: Navigating crisis and suffering without destructive behaviors Interpersonal Effectiveness: Communicating clearly and assertively, building and improving healthy relationships Healthy Boundaries in Christ: Understanding Biblical and emotional boundaries for personal well-being Consent & Confidentiality:Each participant will be required to sign a Consent & Confidentiality Agreement before the group begins. This agreement will outline the purpose of the group, participant responsibilities, and clear parameters for maintaining confidentiality and creating a safe and respectful environment for all involved. All content will be faith-based and trauma-informed, drawing upon Scripture, prayer, and community while honoring the emotional needs of those healing from trauma. Feel free to contact Sis. 2nd Child Safety Training
