About Us
Welcome to the Avenue F Church of Christ
In 1963, the congregation purchased materials to build a 20 x 20 one-room building on two lots at 1407 Avenue H, which was purchased by the elders of Pitman Creek Church of Christ. In February 1964, encouraged by Brother Burch, an elder at the Pitman Creek congregation, Brother Bailey stepped into the role of minister at Avenue H. Brother Burch remained with the Avenue H congregation for a month to help with the transition. Although the church had only a small number of members at the time, it held its first gospel meeting in 1965, featuring Euless Turner as the guest speaker.
The church membership continued to grow. In 1966, the Avenue H congregation built a new building, which seated 75 people. In the 1980’s, it became apparent that the congregation needed yet more room to grow. In 1981, Hamilton Park Church of Christ (now Greenville Avenue Church of Christ) gave the congregation $220 which would be the first donation towards a building fund. In 1984, the congregation became incorporated. There were six trustees, Bro. Morris E. Bailey, Fred M. Hodridge, Dan Richardson, Bobby Richardson, Herman B Callaway and Oscar L. Bailey. The congreagation purchased two lots at 905 Avenue F. In 1986, the congregation purchased four lots at 1026 Avenue F which became its present day location. In February 1994, the congreation sold its prperty at 1407 Avenue H to the City of Plano and moved into Avenue F Church of Christ.
In 2001, Bro. Craig Christman became the minister of Avenue F. Under his leadership, the congregation grew to approximately 150 members and the church hired our first youth minister, Bro. Ramon Hodrige. Bro. Christman remained the minister until September 2006. It was then when Bro. Ramon Hodridge assumed the role of full-time minister of the Avenue F. The church continued to grow under Bro. Hodridge’s ministry.
In 2011, Bro. Ramon Hodridge installed the first elders and deacons at the Avenue F Church of Christ. The Elders were Bro. Larry Bowditch, Bro. Fred Hodridge, Bro. Michael Kelly, and Bro. Rowland Strong. The deacons installed were Bro. John Batts and Bro. Frank Spencer.
Avenue F continued to grow and expanded its presence by acquiring land surrounding the church. The congregation also became deeply involved in community service through AFFECT, a startup nonprofit founded and led by Brother Ramon Hodridge.
As growth continued, Avenue F installed additional deacons in April 2016: Brother Rob Cline, Brother Collis Heath, Brother Brion Owens, and Brother Eric Powers.
Bro. Ramon Hodridge faithfully served as Minister at Avenue F until 2017.
In April 2019, Bro. Clarence Ross, Jr., was installed as the new Minister of Avenue F Church of Christ. Under his leadership, the congregation has grown to 225 members and continues to actively serve the Douglass Community alongside various community partners. Avenue F has since installed an additional Deacon, Bro. Courtney Cole, and Elder, Michael Williams, Sr. in May 2024. Today, Avenue F is home to 10 active ministries and continues to grow both spiritually and numerically in the Plano area.

Avenue F continued to experience growth and installed additional deacons in April 2016, Bro. Rob Cline, Bro. Collis Heath, Bro. Brion Owens and Bro. Eric Powers.
Following the departure of Bro. Ramon Hodridge, Avenue F Church of Christ went nearly two years without a minister. In April 2019, Bro. Clarence Ross, Jr. was appointed as the new Senior Minister. During this transitional period—compounded by the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic—the church entered a season of rebuilding and renewal. Bro. Ross has since led the congregation with a steadfast commitment to spiritual growth, community outreach, and equipping God’s people for service. In May 2024, the leadership team was strengthened with the installation of two devoted men: Bro. Michael Williams, Sr. as Elder and Bro. Courtney Cole as Deacon, bringing the total number of leaders to seven. Under Bro. Ross’s leadership, Avenue F continues to thrive and make a lasting impact in the Collin County community.
